J - funny about the bases - I had tossed a number of them aside because they were too small to cut up - but you are right - as my eye saw them whilst hammering a bowl - I thought - well the forming of the base has done part of the job - so let us see where it goes - it is about seeing shapes, connections and steps in the raising process. C - hammering certainly can give the metal sheen - not shiny but a lovely soft sheen. Go well.
