Preparations. people and new pieces

Friday seems so long ago; but fortunately the peace flags and peace weather-grams are still flying to remind me that it is only Sunday. It has been a big weekend.

Whilst only about 100 people came through our studio-gallery it was quite exhausting as folk were very interested and wanted to know quite a bit about what we did; and of course Fiona and I did share and did demonstrate stuff. And we did manage to sell a few bits and pieces - so all is good.

I managed to make a new tube ring before the weekend - see below.

Made a few more found earrings - couple of pairs sold.

Made some more leaves - sold a few.

And today between folk visiting, and as part of the demonstrations, I managed to make a "simple-classic cuff bracelet thingy".

So it has been another rewarding art confirming weekend; and also made us very glad to that we live where we live and do what we do.

  1. Great, Barry... I was impressed when reading how many folks came through over at Fiona's blog, that sounds like quite the energy output! Nice to have enthusiastic visitors and lovely, too, to have sales! Peace to you!!

  5. the new ring, earings and cuff bracelet look great, would have liked to come and have a look again but preparations for my trip and other household things got in the way.
Plenty of strawberries to be packed etc.

  6. Love that you are so competent and varied in your work Barry, and that you can still call your creation a 'cuff bracelet thingy'. Nothing too precious ..... love that! Well done on your busy weekend - sounds like people visiting would have had heaps of fun.

  7. Hi B, I just love the cultery ends made into earrings! Have you ever seen the bracelets done with forks? classic. I really like your combination of materials they compliment very nicely.

  8. VA, R, JM, SZQ, M & SB - thanks for your good wishes for the weekend we had. One more weekend to go on 6 & & Oct. VA - sales are always welcome for artists - one of the ways we get confirmation about what we do. R - come on down - the cuff just started out as a time filler but was a good way to demonstrate riveting etc. JM - thanks. SZQ - glad you liked the combo of the bits in the ring - they do give points of interest. M- would have been good to see you - but the strawberries and China preparation are the priorities. SB - we can't be too serious about these things - and thanks for the compliment. Go well. B

  10. wow B!! the tube ring is beautiful! i LOVE the design! 100 people must have been really taxing on you and F. glad you two are in your elements! ever wondered how the 100 people experience would be if it were some marketing seminar/debate and not an open studio? i think i will have a migraine for a week! glad the weekend went well :)
