2013 - peace, joy and creativity

A new year has begun; and 2012, a year that offered challenges on many fronts, is behind us.

May 2013 be a better year with: less violence; fewer natural catastrophes; better health; ongoing inspiration and creativity; a little more joy; and heaps of peace.

As is the tradition in the Dempster-Smith household we do new year cards. My 2013 card reflects some of those things I like: recycled metal; patina; rust; and stamping and beating of metal.

  8. L, E, R, MJ, C, Ruma, V and B - thank you for your positive energy and wishes for 2013. I hope we can continue to inspire and support each other again this year. And glad the cards appealed - it would be really cool to be able to actually make them out of metal and mail them - challenge for next year??? MJ - thanks for your comment about authentic art connections. One of the aspects I like about art is that it simply gives one the opportunity to express what is important to one in a form other than words. C - it was such a simple design this year but yes it picked up some things that are me. B - thanks for dropping by - missed having you in your own blog. All - go well in 2013 and may we create well. Peace. B

  10. Hello Barry - I came over via Fiona's post about her New Year's cards and just wanted to say how much I love yours as well...the contrasting colors, the 'etched' numbers, the great natural patterns created by time. Lovely!
Wishing you a very happy 2013...
    - Lisa
