Before sharing a couple of images from the morning walk I wanted to share photos of a couple of visitors from a few days ago. What looks like a swallow tailed butterfly.

A little Silver-eye that had knocked itself out by running into a window near the veggie garden. I was photographing the butterfly at the time. I watched it for a while to see if it would recover. The photos show the bird recovering slowly. In the end I picked it up and got Fiona to assist in administer some Rescue Remedy drops. It sat on our breezeway table for a little while; but then it was up and away - a good outcome. This is the third time we have used Rescue Remedy with knocked out birds - it does seem to help with their recovery.

Though the sun was not up and it was early the bees were out working - making up for lost time because of rain over the last couple of days.

The low angle of the morning sun made a common old Agapanthus look special.

The morning air was clear and cool - magic.
The butterfly and bird photos were taken with the Canon Sure Shot as I need to use a quality zoom so as not to frighten the subjects. The rest of the shots were taken with the iPhone.

ReplyDeleteAs the snowpiles grow and grow, I always wonder how it is even possible that in just a few months, there will be flowers! Glad your little silver eye recovered, rescue remedy... good idea, minuscule amount, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteHi V, S, C, P & VA - sorry it has taken me a while to respond and say thanks for visiting and commenting - food for the artistic soul. V - it is hard to get one's head around the contrast between our places at the moment. S - your welcome on the inspired front - we do tend to do that for each other. C - I agree those feathers are gorgeous - and I was happy about the happy en to the incident. P - I have never seen one of those butterflies in our yard before. VA - the leaves are starting to turn over hear so autumn can't be too far away; and spring not too far away for you - making it through another winter is a fine thing. All - go well. B
