Hearts - just because one can

©2019 Barry Smith - Trio of buffalo horn hearts on the kitchen bench - the biggest heart is about  5.5cm long, 4.5cm wide and .8cm thick.
I was up for a little bit of unstructured creativity today so I decided to continue with the buffalo horn and make a trio of hearts from a slice of the horn.

Hearts roughly marked out and cut.

And then a polish to smooth and bring out the colour and grain of the horn.

The finished product looked good on the polishing bench and the rust table.

They could of course also be used as paper folders.

  4. Hi P, F, LA and MC - thanks for checking out the hearts and leaving a comment. P - they are also delicious to hold. F - great colour when one knows the rough horn they emerged from. LA - folded and held in a warm hand - transferring love? MC - and I think they will have meaning to the trio who will receive them. All - go well. B
