Installed

As you can see from the photo above, Fiona and I have installed the simple geometrical form Corten steel sculpture in the 'courtyard' outside our kitchen area - it fills the gap in the 'courtyard' perimeter.

The piece rested outside our front door whist we prepared the site.

We needed to build up the site for the sculpture using a section of recycled hardwood sleeper and some salvaged concrete blocks. The soil had been kept in a heap at the time we installed the lichen encrusted fencepost screen. Photos follow of the site creation; and installing process. Most of the photos were taken by Fiona.

Following are a few photos of the sculpture in place and other rusted bits that make up the 'courtyard'.

We think we have just about reached our limit on what we can install in the 'courtyard'. For those who love rust and weathered wood it makes one smile.

  1. Well now … it seems Google is perfectly happy to recognize me on my iPhone, so I will comment from here going forward …

I too love rust and weathered wood, but I especially like the shadow play that this latest installation has enabled … it will be endlessly fascinating to watch as hours and seasons pass through your courtyard
