Wee fleet of wee magic metal boats

Little time was available over the weekend to do art work; so why not use it to create a wee fleet of wee metal boats - above and below.

Melting recycled metal can result to some unusual colours - contaminants in the metal? Still - when I get rainbow and purple colours they are to be celebrated.

A few more process shots follow.

This wee fleet most likely will make its way to markets in Scotland

  1. do those colors persist over time? ... they bring to mind the shifting iridescence of oil on water, my mind traveling back many years to gazing over the side of the Shelter Island ferries as they plied the waters of Peconic Bay

  2. Hi LA - colour should last unless scratched off; and yes very much like looking at oil on water. Go well. B
