Slim pickings ...

 

After all the rain and now wind we have had - many of the leaves, petals and blossoms have been blown away or to the ground as you can see from the layers on the path in the photo above.

We are getting closer to the shortest day of the year - mornings are dark - first light is soft light as seen below.

There were a few bits of beauty and colour on my walk including a friendly magpie keeping an eye on me as I walked by.





G's orchid house was also looking a bit sad - very few orchids in bloom - but the couple below were hardy specimens.


The plants all need a bit of a rest from the rain and wind and a little bit of warmth - could be a while before they get the latter.
