I managed to finish stashes of product to send off to Entangle and Maleny Additions; and also a bunch of leaves and Peace Leaves for giving away.
First the leaves and Peace Leaves on rust - just because I love the contrast of the silver against the beautiful rich rust background.

The work and grinding-polishing benches can often look quite full when one is doing quantities of stuff.

It is strange that I often don't think that making 'product' is about art; and yet the folk who buy the individual pieces often remark how they love the unique, creative and handmade nature of the pieces.
Craft, product, Art...to me they are the same because any creative vision translated into actuality is ART. Beauty in the useful, art in the ordinary. Utility and creativity, you combine both so very well Barry and your spoons and knives, especially, show this and are extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteyour peace leaves bring so much joy I wish I had taken photos of the looks of wonder and joy on the faces of the friends who received them!
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that everything you touch has an element of "art" involved. Turning unwanted discarded items into beautiful utilitarian objects is what you do so well. Bravo Barry!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs, Barry! I too love the contrast of the silver against the rust background. Your leaf spoons and knives look fantastic ... just like your peace leaves!
