A peek in my workshop

I have been spending quite a few hours in the workshop lately making boats and making product for markets in Scotland.

I am very fortunate that it is  welcoming space - good lighting and ventilation and a concrete floor as you can see from the opening photo.

I try to keep it pretty organised; and as you can see from the following photos I have some established sections along two walls including: furnace area; grinding bench; metal press; tool cabinets; workbench with two vices; two anvils - one on the bench and one on a timber post; storage cabinets and shelves; and bench top guillotine.

One can be more productive with the right gear and a relatively organised work space.

  1. Well, I went looking for your 37 hammers (do I remember that rightly?), but they appear to be put away ... love those repurposed wooden cabinets and desk ... Liz A

  2. Hi LA - sorry I have been remiss in responding to comments for a long time - just finding the time has been difficult - though I really appreciate your visits and comments. Though at one time I had about 40 hammers I have now reduced the number by half - part of the downsizing when we moved from our old house. Go well. B
