Fiona brought me home today. Still a little bit worse for wear - but on my way back to health. Thought I might share just a few last altered shots of the hospital - Cannula tube; toilet plumbing; and well worn wash basin outlet - just to let you know I am a bit down but not out.

It would seem that the full recovery is going to take 4-6 weeks. Lungs seem to have come good. At the moment I still have quite a bit of pain from the damage done by the CPR. But as the bruising and damaged ribs repair themselves I will be back into creating - just steady as it goes.
Thanks heaps to all the folk who have sent wishes and healing vibes for me; and support for my lover and friend - Fiona.
Hey Barry! Glad you havn't gone down the drain :-)
ReplyDeleteSlowly, slowly now!
Or as Aldous Huxley said ....
"Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Even though you're feeling deeply, lightly let things happen, and lightly cope with them on tiptoes ...."
So glad you are home for goodness sake find a good book, redesign the garden on paper! anything to make you take things slowly and please dont annoy poor Fiona too much as you get better and no doubt grumpy!
ReplyDeleteWill we still be able to catch up in July? If not some other time.
Love the altered photos.
Hi B, good to hear you are home and on the mend! Rest up and keep well. K :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, this is good news indeed! Back home where you belong. I am sure you will find gentle ways to express yourself creatively (grumbling doesn't count!) during your convalescence. Artists are famous for finding new outlets when one is temporarily removed, something about the urge to create, like a river that will cut a new path when its way is blocked. Or if you prefer not to be a mighty river, why not just lie around and catch up on reading? No one ever had more clear and undeniable permission to be idle!
ReplyDeleteSending you and F much love.
Oh, good that we don't need the plumber to retrieve you from the drain like a wedding band! Glad that you are home, sorry to hear about continued pain and a slow recovery. I bet there will be something you will take from this that will find its way into your work in some sublte or not so subtle way. Happy that you are home - take care and soak in that healing veiw of yours.... blessings from the forest - Valerianna
ReplyDeleteTake it easy B...so glad you are home now! Bet you're the first to glorify hospital bathroom plumbing...
ReplyDeleteit is just so nice to hear your 'voice' and know you are healing... be well -

ReplyDeleteWell Barry....so glad to read this post!! You've had us all a bit concerned....not that we all didn't know you'd be bouncing back in your own good time!! Still, hope you will go slowly....you have an enormous number of people so happy to see you up and around with your unstoppable good cheer!
ReplyDeleteYAY! You're back on deck. Missed this blog. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYAY you're home!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne step in the right direction, slow steps will get you there, keep well. M.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear you are home with Fiona. Rest and enjoy the view. YOur hospital photos are wonderful, who'd have known the beauty hidden in such everyday objects? Not that you want a cannula to be an everyday object, of course. Be well, Barry, and look after Fiona.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read you are home and recovering, if slowly. You have been missed. My best also to Fiona; this must have been so difficult for her. Hugs for you both.
ReplyDeleteHi B, love your plumbing...colours magnificent. Love the new shop/website/will leave you alone for ten days or so...but then I will annoy you for a visit. C x

L:et us know the best date so we can put it in the diary. K- hope the opening went well. TT/G - I am getting to make a few jottings in my ideas book - saving up stuff to do once I.m ready to swing a hammer again. VA - I work to a glorious blue, peach and use morning before the sunlight fully hit the valley this morning - very healing - almost had me reaching for the iPhone. L- I saw that plumbing often sop thought well why not capture it. MJ - good to share my 'voice' with my friends. L- as they say art at times just insists on being noticed. JM - the posts will gradually build. V- thanks for your joy. M- many small steps indeed. C-you are so right I think I can forgo a cannula becoming and everyday item. ReplyDeleteI was sorry to hear of your health scare.. and am very pleased you are back home and recovering nicely. Your images state that an artist will always find a way no matter where they are to create.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are home and do take it easy. Getting the rug pulled out from under you is always a bit jolting. I'm sure your idea book will be chalk full of new ideas for when you are ready to work with them. I'm sure Fiona is so relieved to have you home also. Jeff & I have both been on the receiving end of too many hospitals. Do take care - try not to get to impatient we will wait to see all the beauties you'll have time to think about.
