A little glitter and tinkle for Christmas

An elderly friend-neighbour asked if I could make a selection of earrings; and bring them over to her place so she could make a selection for Christmas gifts for her granddaughters.

I have made a number of different types. My earring consultant (Fiona) said I might consider making some layered pieces - so that had a bit of movement and tinkle. So as well as finishing off the long slender leaf-forms and making a riveted pair; I have made a few sets with 2 or 3 layers of metal (copper, brass, EPNS).

The micro leaf-forms also made a return - I made a set that dangles and tinkles. These leaf-forms are about 12-15mm long.

The layered earrings encouraged me to make a layered pendant.

Fiona and I will visit our friend in the next couple of days to let her make her selection. The rest of the earrings will go into the 'shop' for Christmas. Most of the photos in this post were taken by Fiona as many of my macro shots were a tad blurry; and as you can see from Fiona's blog she has the steady hand for the detailed photos.

    Great to see more designs, I wear my leaves all the time and get so many comments on them.

    these are all wonderful - i love the layered pieces - the perforated metal especially adds interest in a number of ways... you are on to something! and i very much like the pendant - you have such a wonderful contemporary style and paired with recycled metals, it all becomes so unique -

    cool how much your leaves look like the windfalls from your walk. and the earrings are really sweet, i love the long thin leaves! nice work, barry, even if not as challenging as large pieces!

    P, MJ, R & V - thanks for checking the new stash out and for the positive feedback. Beth our friend-neighbour chose the Micro leaf earrings. P - I agree whilst I like the variation the leaves do have a charm for me. MJ - the layered look certainly gives me the opportunity to use more recycled fragments; and I like the contemporary tag - Fiona agrees. V- your comment re windfall is uplifting for that is how I often see those pieces. Go well. B
