Suspended

The title of this post was inspired by a feather drifting on the breeze; but looking suspended in a blue sky. The photo was taken with the iPhone as Fiona and I were walking from the house to the car. Such a chance spectacle.

Of course suspended also applies so well to the the Aquarian moon. The last photo, this morning at about 6.30am, reminded me of the drifting feather. Moon photos were taken with the Canon Powershot.

On my walk the suspended theme continued with various vines and blossoms seeming to float in space. I just loved the untethered nature of the vines and blossoms.

Sometimes the brain surprises me - how it just makes connections and developed themes is a mystery.

  1. Or sometimes we are just ready to see what has always been there: When I lived in Tennessee, our rental home was situated in a small valley with many trees and fields of weeds and wildflowers. It was my habit to get up early before sunrise, cup of tea in hand, and walk the field behind our house. Did this most mornings, looking but not really focusing, ambling along. One morning, something clicked and I looked closely because the field simply sparkled as if jewels had been cast on the land. What I was looking at was sunrise catching the dew drops on many spiderwebs in the field that I had not noticed until that morning. Told myself that this was a gift that I was finally able to receive. I ran for my camera, took a photo so I could prove to myself that it had not been a trick of my imagination!

  2. Mornings are the BEST. There is something about the calm of a morning walk that helps you focus on the little things.

  3. I so enjoy your morning walks, Barry, and the delights caught by your camera. As for your moon photos, they are pure magic!
