Foibles and Follies on Friday

Fiona's best friend and her husband Steve arrived today for a few days R&R. People come before art processes so I caught a couple of hours to create a couple of very simple Light Catchers.

One just uses the contrast between a square rust iron block and and an elegant thin crystal Fiona and I bought at a market in NYC. I named this piece Slice of Light.

The other is influence by our trip to Steampunk HQ in Oamaru in NZ - therefore has a Steampunk look; but again simple lines.

And they actually do catch and shatter light as seen in the photos below: three rainbows on the table; and a rainbow on the gauge Point of Light.

Always good to squeeze a little creativity in on Friday - now off to join the others and drink a glass or two of red.

you are a light bringer in so many ways - it is this tension in opposites that is so interesting and satisfying - no one does it like you do!

  3. ~b...the crystal pieces are perfectly paired with the bits of metal used...point of light reminds me of a rocket waiting to take flight...fascinating pieces you have created this day...you are bending and shaping and casting radiant light...blessings be with you and yours~

  6. MJ, AA, B, C & SB - thanks for checking out my time constrained offerings; and they did make me smile - great to be able to just squeeze a little time to create. MJ - light is so important don't you think? AA - glad you liked PoL - and are you settled into your new place? B - always good to give nature a hand - bending and fracturing light is good and done gently. C - I know you have heaps of stuff in your collection - looking forward to seeing some creations in 2013. SB - not surprised you would get the tension between the crystal and rusted metal block. All - go well - peace. B
