Installation and other bits

I thought I would share a few photos of the installation of the Peace Posts on Friday - as you can see from the photos we were running out of light. We got the 5 posts in place with a beautiful western mountain background; and a great sunset.

During the week Fiona and I will return to the posts and set them in gravel, treat them for white ants and make sure they are all aligned.

There was a big recycling-carboot sale at our local show grounds on Saturday - Fiona and I attended early and had a bit of fun picking up bits and pieces we will use in our art. The interesting piece in the top of the tray is a metal mould - next time I'm smelting I intend to pour into it to see what the object comes out like.

Life is never dull on the block - always maintenance jobs to be done including washing the solar panels to ensure maximum generation of power. The pay off was good views of the valley from the top of the shed-studio.

I did get to complete some of the riveted earrings but that will be for another day.

Peace Posts - ready for installation

I did get to finish the 5 Peace Posts over the weekend including attaching the feet that will be driven into the ground to support them.

Below are a few photos of the completed posts taken by Fiona and myself. They were taken in a couple of settings to give and idea how they would look as a group - though the plan is to install them as way posts along a short walk.

This has been an interesting commission; and I have enjoyed it. I'm now planning to do two sets of three posts - one for our block and one for sale.
