Evening at Entangle (and a bit of recycling)

Fiona and I headed to Dayboro yesterday afternoon for the meet the Makers (at Entangle living art) event. I had not been back since I delivered a stash Artisan Lamps at the end of June in time for the soft opening on 1 July. Last night was the official public opening - a celebration of what the gallery-shop has become in one month.

The place has a really good vibe; and is just full of so much handmade and recycled and upcycled stuff.

I delivered another 8 Artisan Lamps as about half the original stash have sold. I also delivered the resin watch-clock parts jewellery. The following photos show how my Artisan Lamps glow amidst the other works - on the night they served a practical purpose in that they added light to the old butter factory

And Fiona and I got to raid one of the shed's of the owner of the complex (Murray) who also makes bakelite light fittings etc. I was mainly in search of wheels and gears for bases for lamps  - and I scored well.

So it was a good day-night on both fronts.

Congratulations to Nola and David of Entangle Livingart for taking the big step they took to set up a new gallery-shop; and double congratulations on the fact that it is working well; and triple congratulations on a grand event last night..

New beginnings

In earlier blog posts I have indicated that some of my work is being include in a new gallery-shop. In fact it is the Design Studio in the Old Butter Factory (shop 6/38 Williams St.) Dayboro - see Entangle Living Art FB here

The Design Studio Dayboro
There is to be an official opening on Saturday 6 August that includes meeting the makers (5-7.30pm).  I delivered a batch of Artisan Lamps about a month ago. Some have sold so I have arranged with the Design Studio owners Nola and David, of Entangle - Living Art, to deliver another batch.

I'm also going to deliver some watch parts jewellery - pendants and brooches mainly. I have polished and packed the bits and have made my sales lists.

It is amazing how much time can go into the administrative side of our art if we are inclined to sell. Anyway the task is done and Fiona and I can now settle into Friday evening - that could include bubbles or a red - the decision is yet to be made.
