Fragments of timber

©2020 Barry Smith - Beauty of the fragments of timber
There was only a few hours available for the garage/studio today; so I decided to make a little jewellery from fragments of timber uncovered in the clean up process.

The two timbers, Australian natives, are Conker Berry and Hairy Oak. I love the colour and denseness of the conker berry and the pattern of the hairy oak.

The cutting and drilling process are shown below.

The end result of hand sanding with fine sand paper and bringing out the colour with timber oil.

©2020 Barry Smith - Conker Berry pendant (7cm long, 1.25cm thick and 2.5 cm wide) - beautiful natural colour, grain and weight - blemish hole included
©2020 Barry Smith - Conker Berry pendant (3cm wide, 6cm long and .8cm thick) - for some reason this fragment had a hole drilled through it - I can't remember doing that
©2020 Barry Smith - Hairy Oak earrings ( 5cm long, .8cm wide and .3cm thick) beautiful light earrings with aluminium rivets and solid silver wires
I hope to get time to get the rest of the pieces done over the weekend
