Such natural beauty

This post shares photos that mostly likely have been taken and shared by many others. They simply record the beauty of a pair of Spangled Drongos going about their business of building a nest (below), laying eggs (above) and sitting on eggs to hatch their young.

Photos below show a change over of egg sitters - checking out the environment before settling in the nest and on the eggs.

Adding a couple of this mornings photos of delicate fungi.

Natural beauty is such a balm for the spirit.

Wallaby antics and beauty by the roadside

Early this morning we were fortunate once again to have a gorgeous little wallaby visiting. As you can see from the photos this young female had a young one in the pouch - but still small and not showing its head to the world. The opening and following photos just celebrate the joy of having this animal nearby going quietly about its business. Third photo - munching on a stork of grass; and the last photo - having a bit of a scratch.

My floral photos today were limited to those standouts along the roadway. Even though it was early and a bit on the drizzle side, the bees were out checking the blossoms.

What a joyful start to the day. On reflection I notice that most of the blossoms are soft pink tones.

The intensity of light

The morning started with the brightest of sunrises seen from the front door (above); after the full moon at 2.15am and then the setting of the full moon (below) seen through a misty rain covered back window.

On our walk to a from the cove there seemed to be so many objects and vistas that had that bit of extra highlight as you can see from the photos below.

The sun was streaming into the cottage and was reflected through the side and handle of our glass jug aka flower vase.

Just such a beautiful morning to walk and bath in the restorative beauty of nature.

Morning light from the headland and other fragments

There will only be one or two more walks to the cove during this visit before we head south to catch our flight home; but each morning walk reveals its own beauty - including the light in the panorama above - Fiona in the foreground with fishing huts to the right.

Reflected sunrise.

Grey light and a very windy morning this morning.

Looking towards the Orkney islands from the Thurso supermarket carpark yesterday afternoon - clear day and sunshine!!! The Orkney mainland is 1.5 hours by ferry from Scrabster-Thurso.

It will be hard to say farewell to the Highland cottage; but then again we have the beauty that surrounds our Maleny cottage.

Here and there

This post simply brings together a few images from our Armadale home and  our Maleny home.

Since this post is coming from Scotland first a few images of 'here' - Armadale home.

A few images from 'there' - Maleny home.

So fortunate to have a here and a there and to immerse oneself in the beauty of both places.
