A positive weekend - open studio and completion of a project

It is hard to believe that our DEP open stdio event has been and gone. Saturday was a great day - the weather stayed fine and we had a good crowd of people through the studio. Strangely we have no photos of the people in the studio simply because we were so busy: talking to people; sharing the space (up to 15 folk at a time); giving people a chance to try their hand at letterpress printing; and selling some bits and pieces.

Below are a couple of photos of some stuff on the walls.

A few photos related to opportunity for people to try letterpress.

Today was a misty rainy day so I got time to finish a project. Fiona suggested we might print some birthday cards that included a calendar. I had set up the chase before the open studio - today I printed cards for June 2020 through to December 2020. The idea is a person purchases the relevant month and then circles the date relevant to the friend or family member - similar to what I have done for September 21.

The project was quite structured but also labour intensive as I had to change the heading on each and move all the numbers around for each month. I was using an old calendar set and a few of the spacers were missing so Fiona suggested I use some leaf ornaments of the same size - it worked well.

We are officially both tired but also happy with our weekend achievements.
