Dusk and dawn - sun and moon

Yesterday afternoon Fiona and I were walking to the west along our local road just as the sun was setting - the sunset was just startling as you can see from the photos above and below.

On our way home Fiona pointed out the pale moon that could be seen fleetingly as clouds drifted over it - photos below.

By the time we got home the clouds had cleared and the moon was becoming clearly visible as you can see from the photos below taken looking east from the front of our home.

This morning just before Fiona and I were heading off to exercise and walk respectively Fiona said have you seen the moon behind the clouds out the back of our place. No I hadn't but dashed out in time to take a couple of photos before the moon was covered by dense cloud.

On my walk the sun began to rise and I stopped to take the couple of photos below because of the very interesting layering of the a rising mist-clouds in the foreground and the clouds that look like trees in the background behind the actual tree silhouettes.

I am just taken by the fact that at dusk and dawn on two consecutive days both sun and moon were above the horizon.
