New light on a new day

Though the early morning was cloudy and dull - after all it is now autumn - a ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and touched the big tree. It only lasted while we had our juice and chose our daily words - but it was a beautiful start to the day particularly given there are so many things that make one sad.

My walk was filled with moments of beauty - below.

G's orchid house added a few more fragments of uplifting beauty.

One cannot ignore the darkness and violence of the Ukraine invasion; and one cannot ignore the hardship and loss folk are experiencing from the floods; but we do need to have the fragments of beauty to remind us that there is still much good, peace and kindness in the world.

  1. So true. The sadness, fear and horror are everywhere. We need to bear witness as best we can; and try not be overwhelmed. These many moments of small and fragile beauty help us do that...
