Whilst we were in Sydney our friend Karen asked had we seen Bronwyn Oliver's sculpture titled Globe in the grounds of the University of New South Wales - the answer was no - we didn't know it was there.
Fiona researched all the sculptures in the grounds of UNSW; and we decided to walk the campus from top to bottom to check out as many of the sculptures we could find. Surfice to say finding Bronwyn Oliver's Globe was the highlight. Photo of Fiona checking out the sculpture above; and a couple of detail below. You can check out some information on this magnificent sculptor here.
Photos of a few of the other sculptures we were able to visit.
It was a great walk; and to finish it with the two sculptures below was just special.
I imagined what it might be like to watch the shadows of Globe in time-lapse photography ... to the extent that I actually looked to see if such a video exists ... no luck, but now I'm thinking it would be an interesting exercise to trace the shadow of an orb over time
ReplyDeleteSo many great finds!
